When you travel to Spain, you will discover a modern country, but also a country with many centuries of history and many centuries of art.

When we think of art, we tend to think of the big museums. And of course, the large amount of museums in Spain host one of the vastest art collections in the world: Prado, Thyssen-Bornemisza or Reina Sofía in Madrid; Dalí Museum in Figueres; Picasso Museum, Fundació Miró or Tàpies in Barcelona; Picasso Museum or Pompidou Center in Malaga; Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Goya Museum in Zaragoza…

But we an not forget the small art galleries all throughout the country, where the artist of today, maybe the genius of tomorrow, exhibit their works. Visiting these small art galleries, some of them private, stepping into the workshop of a painter and get to know his/her work first hand, or even participating in art auctions may be the best complement to have an insider access and immerse yourself into the artistic side of Spain.

But remember, art can not only be found in museums or art galleries. Art in Spain is everywhere: in the countless monuments, in all religious buildings (they are all like small museums), in every street, whether Medieval, new or in the great modernist avenues such as Paseo de Gracia in Barcelona.
